About Arian Dasmalchi, AMFT & APCC

Hello! My name is Arian, and I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #156164) and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #19927). A yearning for deeper connection and meaning led me to this career, and I’m grateful to work with people like you. I believe we all have the innate wisdom and ability to reflect, grow, and change — sometimes we just get stuck and need support. That’s where I hope I come in.

I work with individuals (children, teens, and adults), couples, and families. My approach is eclectic, but I gravitate toward humanistic-existential (we all have growth potential and seek meaning), psychodynamic (early experiences shape us), somatic (our bodies hold trauma), cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and systems work for couples and families.

Clients often come to me carrying past traumas and current stressors that make it hard to move forward. I’m here to listen, offer insight, and provide tools and support to help you reach your goals.

As a mom to a child with ADHD, I understand the challenges of neurodivergence and its impact on the whole family. I’m also a trained grief counselor and have supported people through a wide range of emotional experiences and mourning timelines.

After years as a Silicon Valley workaholic, I’m now focused on slowing down and living mindfully. I love spending quality (preferably drama-free) time with family (including the furry ones), practicing yoga, traveling, and sharing good belly laughs with friends.

Education

I recently completed my Master's in Counseling Psychology at Dominican University of California, with dual concentrations in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) and Professional Clinical Counseling (PCC). My clinical practicum includes providing grief counseling through Providence Hospice in Petaluma, where I support individuals and families navigating end-of-life and loss.

In addition to my graduate work, I have received training in evidence-based and integrative therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and somatic practices. My academic and clinical experiences continue to deepen my understanding of trauma, neurodivergence, and relational dynamics across the lifespan.
